Spring Has Sprung

Welcome back, spring – my favorite season! I don’t think I’ll ever tire of pastel books, so naturally a pretty, spring-inspired shelfie to celebrate the return of this lovely season is totally necessary! My top pics for spring nail colors are coming soon, so keep an eye out for those.

Book Rainbow Beauties

It’s Wednesday, which means we’re halfway to Friday! To make the rest of the week a little bit easier, I decided book rainbows were totally necessary. Please enjoy some photos of my various book rainbows and ombre books… because hump day!

Read The Rainbow

I love rainbows because… rainbows. They’re perfect and bright and fun and beautiful. And when they’re in the form of a book rainbow? Don’t even try to find something prettier!

So I put my commitment pants on, and for an entire week on Instagram, I posted photos of my most photogenic books lined up in all their ombre glory!

{Pink & Red} For pink being my favorite color, I really don’t own enough blush books. But in the end, I really love the way this photo came out. Reached turned out to be the perfect transition between pink and red, which makes me so happy!

{Orange} Not sure if you can tell, but I REALLY struggled with finding enough orange books. So a couple guys – Brown, Zusak and Larsson – ditched their equally present other colors and made an appearance in this photo. Thank God for HP7!

{Yellow} I was most surprised to find that out of all the photos I needed to take, I had enough books for this shot. I definitely assumed I’d end up with an orange/yellow combo, but I did it! Success!

{Green} This may be one of my absolute favorites of the group. I love the transition from teal to yellow-green, and all of the gorgeous shades in the middle!

{Blue} Similarly to the photo above, the color palette of my blues makes me want to walk around as the heart eyes emoji!

{Purple} It’s almost scientifically proven that there’s no way not to love purple, especially when it looks like this.

{Black} Black books are the LBD of literature. They’re effortlessly classic and gorgeous. And they all look fab together!

{Grey} I’ve had the same thought on almost every photo, but I seriously adore almost all of the books in this shot! So much YA love all in one place.

{White} Clean and bright and perfect!

Now if only my actual book shelves looked like this… Happy Rainbow Reading!

Inspired Instas {5}

It’s been a while since I’ve done an Inspired Insta post, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been active on Instagram. In fact, I would love to take this moment to thank everyone who has followed me over the last month because… I REACHED 500 FOLLOWERS! It stuns and humbles me everyday that people love the things I am passionate about and find pretty!

Now that I’ve gotten my gushing out of the way, lets get to some of Novels and Nail Polish’s most popular Instas this past month!

R is for Rainbow Rowell: It is no secret that I love everything Rainbow Rowell! My name convinently ends in an “R,” which gave me the perfect prop for this photo! It features one of the pretty letters that spell out my name on my bookshelf!

Kate Spade Goodies: I am obsessed with a few things: books, bows and gold. Luckily for me (but not for my wallet), Kate Spade is all about those things too! So in love with my bow push pins and pretty notebook/2015 calendar!

5 Shades of Grey Ombre Mani: While I didn’t love the books, I love the inspiration I found from the 50 Shades Trilogy!

A Great and Terrible Beauty Polishes: The Gemma Doyle Trilogy has been one of my favorite series since the end of high school. I was so happy to find the perfect colors in my Julep collection to match the gorgeous covers!

Pastel Book Rainbow: Who doesn’t love a good book rainbow? I know I do! I also found out that I don’t have any pastel pink books. I gotta work on changing that!

Gone With The Wind: If you’ve paid attention at all, you probably have realized that Gone with the Wind is my favorite classic of all time. There is just something so compelling about the details and characters. And pretty much the most famous quote in life… EVER comes from it!
